About the Pool

The Pool is the alumni magazine of the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), a nationally recognized visual and performing arts college located in Valencia, Calif. The magazine is published online twice a year at the end of each semester by the CalArts Office of Marketing and Communications. The Pool is sent to alumni, parents of current students, friends of CalArts, and distributed on campus to faculty, students and interested applicants.

The mission of the publication is to inform and entertain readers; to engage alumni and friends with feature stories and short items that profile CalArtians recognized for excellence in their fields and métiers. A robust section of Class Notes includes all written submissions and selected images of alumni and their work.

We hope The Pool and thepool.calarts.edu help all CalArts alumni to connect, reconnect and network professionally with their peers, classmates, faculty and friends, as well as to foster pride in the Institute among all of its 20,000+ graduates worldwide.
