Adam Stern ’77 says, “The Seattle Philharmonic is continuing its work in support of forgotten or neglected composers. During the 2019–20 season, it will present four US premieres by women: Mel Bonis, Ruth Gipps, Molly Kien, and Grazyna Bacewicz, as well as the world premiere of a Philharmonic commission by Washington composer Gina Gillie. The orchestra has received three grants from Women’s Philharmonic Advocacy for their efforts.”
