Angela Stempel (Film/Video MFA 17) is excited to announce the release of her first animated musical special as a director, Lulu Is a Rhinoceros, now streaming on Apple TV+. This 45-minute kids and family special is based on the children’s book by Jason and Alison Flom and brings Lulu’s story to life with vibrant animation, humor, and heart.

The special features five original songs composed by Golden Globe nominee Leland, and an outstanding voice cast including Auliʻi Cravalho, Paul Rust, Dulé Hill, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Alex Newell.This project has been a true labor of love for Stempel, who is thrilled to share it with audiences who enjoy animated musicals, stories about identity and self-expression, and beautifully crafted family content.Lulu Is a Rhinoceros is available now on Apple TV+.
