In March 2025, Kathryn Pisaro (Music 06) chaired a session on Global Cold War Aesthetics and Initiatives at the Society of American Music National Conference in Tacoma, Washington, which featured a paper by CalArts alum Luke Martin. In June, she performed two world premieres at the International Double Reed Society Conference at Butler University in Indianapolis: Francisco Castillo’s piece for electronics, artwork projections, 2 bassoons, 2 English horns, 2 oboes, and oboe/oboe d’amore and The Americana Sextet by Charles Fernandez during the Solo and Chamber Music Gala Concert.
