Misa Kelly (Dance 96) notes, “I continue on with the spiritual/creative lifestyle engaging in singing/songwriting for the uke and guitar, drawing/painting focusing on the use of ‘pandemic cardboard,’ playwriting/acting/directing, and writing, with dance making not presently a part of my orbit. I’m enjoying developing a shamanic practice, which fuels the creative process, and I am presently studying 8+ languages with a primary focus being Hawaiian (I’ve been asked if I’d be interested in illustrating for some Hawaiian language videos for children, of course, I said yes). I am presently active via Zoom with Theater Eclectic as an actor, director, and playwright. My first one-act, a ‘new genre’ titled Cheating at Checkers, will be a part of the 2021 HHII Festival. I am presently directing my second one-act, Time Out, and playing the role of Mrs. Blanchard in Ever Young. In the summer of 2020, my work as a visual artist was a part of a group show in London at the Lockdown Gallery. I grew immensely during the spiritual/creative hermitage that COVID-19 offered to our family unit and don’t anticipate going back to living the way I was. I’m also enjoying growing some of our own food, hiking on the trails less ventured on, exploring Breema, Gaga, trance dancing, and avoiding social media. Aloha!”
