The CalArts Pool Fisheye Snapshot

Jeff Perry (Music MFA 84)

Jeff Perry (Music MFA 84) reports, “I’ve gone over to the dark side and become an associate dean in the School of Music here at Louisiana State University. I take some solace in knowing that some of my very favorite CalArts people (e.g. John Payne, Amy Knoles, Alan Chaplin) have held a similar position. Creative work continues. My essay on John Cage’s Song Books and the Cage/Thoreau/Satie connection will appear in Music Theory Online in September 2021. My ‘Overture in the Anatid Style’ for double reeds was recorded in Guilford, Connecticut, by classmates Libby Van Cleve and Jack Vees and bassoonist Rebecca Noreen this past year.”
