Allan Graubard (Critical Studies 71) shares, “Of late I’ve been collaborating with Canadian artist Gregg Simpson on an audio version (my text, his music) of a piece entitled ‘Night Hawk’; a noir-esque narrative of a private detective who falls for a gal who killed another guy he didn’t know. The text, with Gregg’s collages, was published in a recent book of mine—selected poems and tales: Western Terrace (Exstasis Editions, Victoria, BC, 2019). By the way, ‘Western Terrace’ is dedicated to the late composer/conductor Lawrence D. ‘Butch’ Morris, the CalArts 2012 Herb Alpert Award winner; and one of my most important collaborators over three plus decades.”
