Deborah Wasserman (Art 92) writes, “This year has been tough on all of us, but strangely, the time spent in solitude, contemplation, and reevaluation has been invaluable. More than ever, art seems to be an urgent necessity, a path of healing, uplifting, and making a change! This year I was fortunate to receive a few grants: 1. A Su Casa grant through the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs to conduct art residencies in senior centers; and 2. New Work Grant, through Queens Council on the Arts, NYC Department Of Cultural Affairs. My work was included in a recent group show at The Pelham Art Center, New York, and will be included in another group show, in November, at The Catherine Fosnot Art Gallery and Center in New London, Conn. This year I’m also excited to be a finalist for NYFA Fellowship in the Drawing/Printing/Book Art category. May everyone stay healthy and joyful through these challenging times!”
